SellTheCar.com.au operates in a competitive, price-sensitive market where trust is hard to earn and leads are expensive to generate. Their business model requires a steady, reliable flow of vehicle sellers to keep their buying operation running at capacity. Without it, the whole business slows down.

Before working with Growth Funnels, lead costs were high and volume was inconsistent. They were paying too much per lead, the leads that did come in often didn't convert, and their campaigns weren't differentiated from competitors in a market full of similar offers. The creative wasn't connecting with sellers, the targeting was too broad, and there was no structured system to capture and nurture leads through to a completed sale.

They needed a reliable, scalable lead generation system that could bring in vehicle sellers at a cost that made commercial sense, with enough volume to keep their pipeline full.

The Approach

We rebuilt their paid acquisition from the ground up. The starting point was a creative strategy built around the seller's primary concern: getting a fair, fast offer without the hassle of private selling or dealership run-around. Ad concepts were developed specifically for Facebook and Instagram, where vehicle sellers could be reached while they were actively considering their options.

Targeting was tightened around in-market vehicle sellers using behavioural signals, vehicle ownership data, and purchase intent indicators. We eliminated the broad targeting that was wasting budget on unqualified audiences and focused spend on the people most likely to request a valuation within the next 30 days.

We ran local SEO alongside the paid campaigns to capture high-intent organic searches, and optimised the landing page experience to reduce friction between ad click and lead submission. The combination drove cost per lead down to $2.50 while volume scaled to 1,200+ leads, 60+ converted deals, and $300K in revenue. A 27x return on ad spend.
